AREAS of SUPPORT

The R. Harold Burton Foundation has four main areas of focus:  education, science, literacy, and health and human services, primarily in the greater Salt Lake metropolitan area.  Funding is intended to improve organizations’ capacity to make positive impacts on the local community and its citizens.

Education

Our children are the next generation of leaders and will have a significant impact on the future of our country. Grants are typically to pre-school, K-12 and university/college programs with a current focus on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programs.  We also support arts education programs.

Science

We support programs and organizations that engage children and young adults in science, technology, math, engineering and the environment to better prepare them for a future not yet imagined.

Literacy

We support programs that increase literacy in our community.

Health and Human Services

It is our goal to provide better health and wellness care for individuals in need. We support organizations providing dental and eye-care exams and healthcare for uninsured and under-insured individuals.  We also support programs that help individuals improve their own lives and become self-sufficient.
